so help me aps.

I’m going for a job interview today, or the day after tomorrow. (Yes, everything is uncertain.) I’m going to show off my APS skillz, but the problem is, the more I look at everything, the more I realise that I’ve got nothing to show off. At least, hardly something that could be helpful in a photoart studio, something that these people advertise themselves as. I haven’t done any colourings of b&w photos. I haven’t tried to restaurate photos, aside from maybe fixing a very minor glitch & noise here and there. I’m not a big fan of huge-arse gloriously detailed "art deco" framing. I haven’t even attempted making one, ever.

We’ll see.

Feeling largely uninspired lately. Between Mother’s sickness, friend’s too quick a visit, unwanted notes from the past, and saying goodbye to a job, I feel silent and quietly introspective.

Once more I shall start calling up random job ads.

There’s a wonderful ad for perfume shop salesperson. Too bad strong smells give me headaches of woe and doom. I’d be an amazing consultant. "Oh, no, sorry, not THAT smell. I won’t touch it with a six feet pole, touche. Go for it if you’d like, but I’m not helping you with that one. Nuh-huh."

One of my cats is actually a dog.

She’s so small here. This one was taken more than a year ago. I should upload some newer photos of kitties.

If God had wanted us to vote, he would have given us candidates.

The sad truth is that excellence makes people nervous.
— Shana Alexander

I hate life, I hate death and everything in between just doesn’t interest me.
— Chris Rapier

Do the one thing you think you cannot do. Fail at it. Try again. Do better the second time. The only people who never tumble are those who never mount the high wire. This is your moment. Own it.
— Oprah Winfrey

Work is not man’s punishment. It is his reward and his strength and his pleasure.
— George Sand

I’m reading George Sand’s novels ATM, albeit slowly. Consuelo, for example, is taking me years. I mean, literally. Years. I started it sometime late November ’07, I think. It’s a good book if you remember that back then people had no television, radio, and photography. For the hyperactive mind of today, overwhelmed with RSS readers, constant television, and other visual noise, all the landscapes and feelings she paints are tedious.

Libra on the Ascendant
The Libra Ascendant gives a charming personality and an artistic and creative flair. If you have this cardinal air sign on the Ascendant, your nature is to seek balance through understanding. You strive to see both sides of an issue, yet you can debate your point with finesse. Librans often are found in the legal profession. With Libra on the Ascendant or Venus (the ruling planet of Libra) in the first house, you cannot thrive in an inharmonious environment. You prefer to avoid disagreements and may try too hard to please others, to your own detriment. You can be indecisive for fear of making a mistake. Your interest in people and natural social skills attract many friends.
